Shepherd’s Pie with Cauliflower Mash (Beef or Turkey)

A comforting, grain-free shepherd’s pie topped with creamy cauliflower mash instead of potatoes. Nourishing, satisfying, and perfect for batch cooking.
Ingredients
Meat Filling
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 small onion, diced
2 carrots, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup homemade meat stock
1 tbsp tomato paste (optional, if tolerated)
Sea salt and black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil or ghee
Cauliflower Mash
1 large head cauliflower, chopped
2–3 tbsp ghee or butter (if tolerated)
Sea salt to taste
Instructions
Steam cauliflower until very soft. Blend with ghee and salt until smooth. Set aside.
Sauté onion and carrots in ghee until soft.
Add meat and cook until browned. Stir in garlic, stock, seasoning, and tomato paste.
Simmer 10 minutes until thick.
Transfer meat to baking dish, top with cauliflower mash.
Optional: Top with shredded hard cheeses like lactose free cheddar and herbs.
Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until bubbly.
