Family Taco Night (GAPS diet friendly)

These tacos are savory, familiar, and easy to adapt for kids and adults alike. Soft almond flour tortillas, simple seasoned meat, and a creamy avocado sauce make this a comforting dinner that still supports gut rebuilding.
Taco Filling (Beef or Turkey)
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
1 tbsp avocado oil, olive oil, or beef tallow
1 tsp sea salt (to taste)
1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove minced garlic)
1 tsp onion powder (or finely minced onion)
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp paprika (optional)
Pinch of oregano (optional)
1/4 cup of water or broth (leftover broth from Chicken Soup adds flavor and gut healing goodness: https://www.nurturista.com/post/chicken-soup-for-the-soul-and-the-gut)
Instructions
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add meat and cook until browned, breaking it up gently.
Add seasonings and the water or broth.
Simmer 5–10 minutes until juicy and well-combined.
Taste and adjust salt.
DIY Almond Flour Tortillas (Soft & Flexible)
Ingredients
1½ cups blanched almond flour
½ tsp sea salt
2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
2 large eggs
2–3 tbsp warm water (as needed)
Instructions
Mix all ingredients into a soft dough.
Let rest 5 minutes (important for texture).
Divide into 6 balls.
Roll thin between parchment.
Cook in a dry skillet over medium-low heat, 1–2 min per side.
Creamy Avocado Sauce (Dairy-Free)
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
2–3 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
Juice of ½ lime (optional)
1 small clove garlic (optional)
Sea salt to taste
Water to thin (1–3 tbsp)
Instructions
Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Adjust thickness for drizzle or dip.
